WOODBURY AVENUE - PETERSFIELD

Woodbury Avenue - Petersfield

We were contracted to substantially reconstruct and adapt this chalet-style home. The existing front porch/sunroom was demolished, and the oak beams retained and renovated for incorporation in the new works. A Staircase enclosure and Utility Room were constructed at the rear. A temporary roof was installed over the whole building, and the existing roof tiles were removed and conserved. The whole of the first-floor and roof structure was removed, and materials segregated and recycled.

Substantial structural steelwork was accurately measured and manufactured to millimetre tolerances. This was installed beneath the new first-floor and with columns above to support longitudinal beams the full length of the building front and rear.

The new structure to form the roof, dormers and first-floor rooms was cut on site utilising hundreds of metres of treated timber. The roof was covered with a breathable membrane and new clay tiles.

The project evolved to include:

  • Installing/replacing lintels over existing external window and door openings.
  • Structural and internal alterations
  • All new German purpose-made engineered softwood windows.
  • Purpose-made oak staircase and balustrading, all finished on site.
  • New exclusive hardwood internal and external doors.
  • Exclusive bathroom ware throughout.
  • Porcelain floor and wall tiling over underfloor heating.
  • Exclusive kitchen and utility room fittings and appliances, with black granite worktops.
  • All new heating and hot water systems with associated pipework, valves and pipe casings.
  • All new electrical installation with LED lighting generally throughout, data and communications wiring.
  • New ceilings and plastering, with cornice throughout.
  • Full decorations.
  • Refurbishment of the existing hardwood flooring, including sanding and sealing the freshly exposed timber.
  • Installation of three substantial crated soakaways, new storm & foul drainage and new larger diameter water main.
  • Substantial external works front, rear and side, including oak beamed porch, extensive brick faced retaining walls, pavings, feature steps, topsoil and turfing.

Value approximately: £500,000.

Aegis One - Godalming

Mezzanine Floor:

Manufacture and installation of structural steelwork to the new data centre.

  • Supply and installation of steel decking, reinforcement, and floated concrete floor.
  • The area of the floor approximated 365 square metres, 4.5 metres above ground level.
  • Access was only available through a rolling shutter where all materials were transported, and concrete pumps operated.

Energy Centre Godalming:

Following the completion of the mezzanine floor, the adjacent energy centre was constructed comprising:

  • Substantial removal of existing concrete slabs, breaking up and removing ground beams and piles.
  • Reducing the ground level by approximately 1.20 Metres deep, proving pile positions, designed pile mat and installing 21 no. bored piles.
  • Excavation and construction of ground beams and pile caps in running water, including large diameter storm drain and diversion beneath ground beams.
  • Reinforced concrete slab. Structural steelwork frame incorporating first-floor and roof metal decking and reinforced concrete first-floor slab.
  • 150mm thick, dense concrete block walls on front and rear elevations full height.
  • Insulated metal cladding, roof decking, and single ply roofing together with rainwater goods.
  • Installation of stormwater drainage including new manholes and pavings.
  • Building: 13m x 10m x 10m high.

Value approximately: £400,000.

ASH GREEN - VICTORIAN STATION

Ash Green - Victorian Station

Substantial refurbishment of the lower ground floor at platform level and refitting to include:

  • Removal of all floors, plaster ceilings, and wall plaster.
  • Major structural alterations including structural steelwork.
  • Wall and floor water control and waterproofing.
  • Replacement of ground floors to current standards.
  • Underfloor heating, screeding, new plasterboard and plaster to ceiling and walls.
  • All new electrics
  • Hot and cold services and heating.
  • Replace staircase with new.
  • Fit new kitchen, skirting boards and picture rails.
  • Specially-run cornice to match that removed, supplied and fitted to the ceiling/wall junctions.
  • Purpose made hardwood double glazed roof light installed in the light well.
  • In the region of 200 tonnes of rubble and excavated material removed from the lower ground floor and transported to the road level by conveyor belts.
  • Concrete for the floors was transported by mobile concrete pumps on site.

Value approximately: £180,000.

West End Bowls Club – West End, Woking

Value approximately - £140,000.00 excluding VAT

We were contracted to carry out the extension to the Bowls Club together with structural alterations, high specification tolerances for the flooring and W.C alterations and additions. External works comprising storm water drainage, access steps, balustrading, paving approximately 100 square metres and perimeter fencing.

East Elevation

The work comprised, provision of substantial scaffolding to gain access to the severely decayed, defective and missing stone work. Removal of defective masonry and cutting, shaping and installation of replacement ‘clunch’ stone bedded and pointing with lime/sand mortar. Repointing where missing lime/sand mortar to general areas.

These works comprised the removal of loose masonry and temporarily make safe. Careful removal of potential dangerous masonry, clean and set aside for reuse. Source replacement stone as required and reconstruct in lime/sand/cement mortar to match the existing. Repointing where missing lime/sand mortar to general areas.
